2 reasons I am retarded

Tonight...like every other Tuesday night, I got ready for my fabulous city council meeting and left the kids with my mom. I got to West Point city hall about 15 minutes early (normally I'm at least 20 minutes early...so I can eavesdrop on the chatter of employees) Today, there were no employees cars blocking all of the parking spots. I parked right by the door and went to walk in...the door didn't budge. Locked. "Dang it" I muttered. I knocked on the door hoping that the city recorder would be getting things ready for the meeting and hear me. I knocked for a good 5-10 minutes. No one ever came. I looked around...no one. Then I looked at my cell phone and saw the date. The 5th tuesday of the month...there was no council meeting to attend. Super.
Second...my sister Lisa has posted a couple of posts about "Klonopin" being her friend. Until this evening I thought she was one of the most creative people I know...because she named her imaginary friend Klonopin. Apparently Klonopin is a drug she refers to as her "crazy pill." Good to know, I guess we can take Klonopin off of the guest list for Thanksgiving.

NOW...for breaking news!!! Jonah is walking (Oh happy day!) Wow...19 months and 1 day!!! I was starting to worry that there was something wrong! No worries now...except that he's still not talking really.
I'll post pics soon of his first little steps!!!

Cute kids/Give me a freakin break!

To start of with, I have two of the funniest kids ever. Logan, my oldest says the funniest things. Today, it was a terrible day. My new iphone ended up in the toilet, and Jonah broke a glass (while I was off vomiting) and he cut the crud out of his little hand. I cleaned the glass out of his little hand and held pressure. As I'm holding down my poor screaming child so that I can get enough pressure on it to stop the bleeding, Logan comes over and is trying to push me away from Jonah. Jonah definately is a spunky little man, but because he doesn't talk, I can, for the most part over rule him. Logan put his hand in my face and said "Stop it. Jonah pretty much thinks you're a poop face." I burst out laughing and said "Now, how on earth do you know that little mister?" He said "Well momma, that's what his face said." He was right...Jonah was calling me a poop face with his eyes and the nasty little facial expression on his face as I put pressure on his tender little hand...

Now for the GIVE ME A FREAKIN' BREAK edition of my blog!

Most of you know I attend the Davis Applied Technology College. Not the greatest school in existence, but possibly the cheapest. Now I must admit the day time teacher pretty much sucks. She's a glorified seat warmer. I have been on leave of abscence for a few weeks while I got the kids settled and the whole divorce thing taken care of. I was here last week...both days...which is a total of 14 hours. Now, mind you, I did get pink highlights....not a face transplant. She says to me "ARE YOU IN THIS CLASS" like all shocked like she has never seen me before. It's like "HELLO, I'm the girl you've ignored for months, who every time she asks a question you say 'don't know what to tell you. Go practice more.'" What the frick, are you kidding me? there are like 6 kids in the class total!
So I am ready to pass off a section of the Media Design applications, so I ask her where the blue section completion forms and she looks at me like I have an alien growing out of my head and says "Those are OLD forms. We don't use those anymore." Ok...maybe you don't use them anymore...but I've been gone 2 weeks, not years!!! GRR this school drives me crazy!

A week of funness

Well, this has been a crazy week. ( I mean CRAZY) SWARMS started before I got a chance to blog. For those of you unfamiliar with "SWARMS," this is when those at the Standard-Examiner descend upon a single location all at once. It is by far, my favorite/busiest time of the year! (Did I mention that I love it?) I did my first of two SWARMS yesterday, but I need to write about what I did before that!!!
Misty and I went to this scrapbook retreat thingy...I had a blast, even if the women sitting across from us were total *word that rhymes with itches*. I have missed hanging out with her so much! (I call it "Misty withdrawls") Some of the highlights of my night were when we went to our room and I found this nasty note that said basically "to save water, we wash our sheets every three days" I was totally germed out. Misty got into bed and said with a laugh "Man, I wish I had a sperm light!" EW, so gross/funny! So, she made me smell the sheets, and they smelled clean..but yeah, a sperm light would have been good.
We stayed up until about 5 am scrapbooking and watching Nacho Libre!!! When we woke up, I had a head-ache and felt like I wanted to stab the sun. A condition I like to refer to as a "funness hangover."

Misty! (I love this girl!)

(still Misty!)

Me
(The effects of little sleep and too much fun!!)

me again.

the itches across from us kept mocking us trying to take our own pictures, telling us it is better to hold the camera upside down. YES, I could have turned it..but it makes me laugh because this one is just as lousy as all of the other pictures that we took!

This is Misty's layout that she was working on. It was photos of her husband and the title was "My Edward" lol. (yes, twilight related)

Our 3 am tacos.

Like 2 peas in a pod...2 dorks at a crop!

The cart we used to transport just a small portion of our scrapbooking stuff.

TICKET!

Yesterday I was taking the kids to go to McDonalds. I was in a rush to get home and get them ready for bed. I was speeding and I got pulled over. The following is dialogue that took place as I got my ticket.

Logan: "Mommy, why are you crying? Was that policeman naughty?"
Me: "No, policemen aren't naughty. They are the good guys."
Logan: "What's wrong mommy?"
Me: "Mommy made a mistake, she broke a rule. It's the policeman's job to make sure everyone follows the rules. This ticket reminds mommy to always follow the rules."
Logan: "Do I get tickets?"
Me: "No, only the policemen can give tickets."
Logan: "Lucky girl."

12 of 12

One of my friends puts up 12 photos of the 12th day of the month. I did it last month and decided it's pretty much the greatest idea ever. In addition, I am going to post 12 things I'm grateful for each month.

My mom and dad came and helped me move a bunch of stuff from the old house. Lisa got this brilliant plan that it would be great fun to use the dolly to move the kids. These are some of the funniest pictures.

Loneliness and Laughter

This has been such a hard weekend for me. For many reasons, I had such a hard time taking the boys to visit their daddy this weekend. They've been gone since Friday. I woke up Saturday morning at 5 am...which is when Jonah usually wakes up the first time. I didn't hear him so I got up to go check on him. I sat on the floor and cried when I realized that I was in the house by myself.
It's funny, before I had kids, I thought I was happy. I never realized what happiness was until I had them. I can't imagine not having them. People have asked me recently if I regret getting married, since I am now divorced. The answer, not for a minute. Had I not gotten married, I wouldn't have my sweet, sweet boys.
I am so grateful for my kids. What wonderful miracles they are in my life. They make laugh, they give me hope for the future. They keep me going when things are the worst. When I'm so sad I feel like I can't go on, they give me the strength to somehow push on. I love them so much.

Big Fat Blog

There are so many things that have happened in the last couple of weeks I don't really know where to start.

First of all...
Call it a midlife crisis, call it freakin' awesome (that's what I call it) Whatever you want to say about it...I got pink highlights in my hair. I love it!

And..
For those of you who are wondering, my divorce is final. It was completely official on September 4, though it was done a little earlier, it was delayed until the judge signed an additional form. I am doing pretty well in regards to that. I ask that everyone have love and understanding for Layton. He is struggling. I hope that all of my friends and family will give him the same support they have given me.

Next, I got a new camera that pretty much rocks. It's a Cannon EOS 30D and I think I'm in love...(with the camera!)

Finally, I have moved up to my Grandma Glanville's house in Ogden. I kind of think of it as my sanctuary. Many of my happiest memories as a child were made in that house. My boys are struggling with everything and it really gives me a lot of strength to be able to have them in a place that holds so much joy for me.

Also, I am looking for a job so if anyone knows about a reporting job...or something that involves writing, give me a holler!
